The practice considers contemporary notions of process and materiality. The organic often provides a foundation for objects which appear caught in unstable instants amid imminent transformations. Materials that permit an in-between mouldable state propose an imagined felt encounter, which positively affirms the viewer’s corporeality (Peterson 2007). Formal decisions are therefore made to avoid anthropomorphism but allow the viewer to engage in a bodily manner, birthing a similarly intense sensation of materiality in the viewer analogous to the monotonous construction of the work. This is reinforced by the irregular repetitive processes which stresses a purity of form, material and action, suggesting the possibility for infinite multiplication as in Brancusi’s Endless Column.
Materials were selected for their transformational potential; the work can be deconstructed and remade thus proposing an infinite amount of variations. Transformed through minimal means, the success of the work therefore relies on the charm of the material. The practice reinstates an interrogative relationship with Modernist concepts of truth to materials, form as content and the autonomous art object. The work also initiates dialogues with Post-Minimalist notions of phenomenology where the object educes a bodily reading. Arte Povera’s advocate of pre-linguistic experience through a transformative handling of materials is also of significance.

Sensitive things are being said that are being written down and retrogressively sent among emails before being published to ensure vigilance about delicate matters of said things.
Crocheted and huggable robotic seals are being considered for the elderly. Shades of orange are being incessantly driven to and from in borrowed cars. Flowers are growing out of slant-eyed cracks in the pavement. Chopped off fingers preserved in resin are being kept hidden in top pockets. Fractal geometry is being considered as proof of a higher design. There are Ebay searches for lost local shops. Women are being taken home by bare footed old men. Bulbous online dating profiles are being constructed rapidly. Braces and blondes are fleeting and friendly. There are parades of home-made knives made before quick exits. There’s printing for the missing masses.
